Solids food made easy with Raised Real

Now that the babies are 8 months old (and 6.5 adjusted), I’m really buckling down on giving them more textured foods.

I went into the whole solids thing wanting to do baby lead weaning, but with pedi direction to start Wilder on solids at 4.5 months and their prematurity being a factor, we sort of fell into combo feeding instead.

It wasn’t how I pictured our food journey, but just the thought of giving three babies strips or chunks of food was absoluetely terrifying - a common emotion for most starting BLW. ⁣

So we started with oatmeal - once a day - for a couple of weeks, then moved on to single ingredient vegetable purees when they all hit 5 months old. At 6 months old, we introduced fruits and allergen-prone foods (along with a morning meal), adding them to oatmeal or letting them eat it as a puree. At 8 months old, these triplets have had a taste of most every fruit and veggie I can buy and have loved every single one. ⁣

A couple of weeks ago, a company called @raisedreal sent me a box of 24 prepackaged and precut meals, and they have made my transition to chunkier foods so much easier. ⁣

Silicone bibs from Mushie.

Made with locally sourced fruits/veggies and mixed with wholesome ingredients I had never even had myself in my 31 years of life, these babies are gobbling them up like champs. ⁣

Despite the normal gagging episodes (and learning to differentiate them from choking), I feel much more confident moving forward with foods cut into finger-length strips and small chunks. As always, I recommend any tips or things I should know!⁣
