Monday Mood is having your brand new $2,000 stove shit the bed

Monday mood šŸ˜‚ā£ā£

Seriously though, our BRAND NEW, $2,000 @geappliances induction cooktop shit the bed on us Friday. Making 3847894393993oz of formula a day without a stove is hard! We make BIG batches multiple times a day (because triplets lmao) and mixing with cold water is an absolute, chunky disaster. Plus our well water is sometimes brown and full of iron/minerals that I rather boil off. ā£ā£

Since it happened on a Friday (of course), Monday was the earliest GE could get anyone out to come and service it after troubleshooting with customer service over the phone. I get a call this morning from the repair guy, who assumed he knew what the issue was before even going to our house, and was told the part we needed was backordered till the end of the month. Knowing this was not ideal, he referred me to the customer service team, who then reached out to the warehouse to see if they could get the part expedited. The earliest they can give us an answer to that is Tuesday/Wednesday, then by the time they get the part in Iā€™m sure it will be Friday, which most likely means no stove until next week šŸ™„ā£ā£

Paying $2,000 for a stove for it to break just a couple of weeks after use is absurd, and I made it clear I wanted either a repaired or replaced stove by THIS week. In the meantime, Iā€™m still stuck with rather shitty options on getting the water boiled in order to mix in the formula. Iā€™m either microwaving it (questionable), or standing outside in 20 degree weather grilling it.ā£ā£

Hopefully everyone else is having a better Monday!ā£ā£
