Framing the House
It wasn’t long after excavation that were able to get framing started. Our builder, Jay’s grandfather, was quick to get the materials ordered and get this project rolling.
Since I did most of my updates via social media and they were'n’t exactly long form blog posts, I’m going to compile all of framing in this post just for documentation.

Framing started on Monday, and it's amazing how much they can get done in just two days. Tomorrow, the sub-flooring goes in as well as some exterior walls.
I gotta say - and this could be pregnancy hormones talking - but I can't help but get sentimental knowing my husband is building our first and forever home along side his grandfather, brother, and best friend via the family business.
I can't wait until our little #JanakSwarm is old enough to understand their dad gave life to their mama's dreams, board by board, and raise them wild here until it's their own turn to leave the nest ❤️

It's the end of week 1 of framing, and we've got exterior walls and inner frames up for the first floor!
Be sure to keep an eye on our stories/live for upcoming walkthrough videos as well as some exterior design decisions I'll be showing off.

We officially closed on our construction loan today for #WildernestBuild 🎉 With that done, we've been able to resume work on the house, and week 3 has ended with the majority of the second floor framed already! If you haven't yet, be sure to check out the first floor tour on our Instagram Live.

No, I have not gone into labor with the #JanakSwarm just yet! Between 2 weeks of mostly rain and my drone being out of commission for a few days, I haven't had many opportunities to update anything!
Week 6 of #WildernestBuild brings exciting progress, however, as it starts looking like a real house with a roof and gables (the loves of my life). Just wait until the porch gable and bump out roofs go on - it's going to look gorgeous. Pretty soon the windows and trim will be making their way on to the house to bring my favorite exterior vision to life.

The end of week 7 of #WildernestBuild is brought to you by the start of our @azekexteriors trim and 2/3 pent roofs, which literally bring me life. There's something about exterior trim that really ties everything together and I cannot wait to see the rest of it (especially paired with our porch stain and siding colors, which will be revealed soon).
Also making an appearance is the start of the porch gable! This porch is really one of the main focal points of the house and will be made from thick, rough sawn timber. What you see now is just the base, but it won't be long until the detail work and thick columns are added.

And just like that, we have windows. And a roof!
